The chart illustrates the proportion people lived in cities, towns, and rural areas who born in Australia and elsewhere in 1950 and 2010.
Overall, it is clear that inhabitants lived in cities were far more common both remainning survey groups in 1950 and 2010. Futhermore, the trend of living a city increased over the period.
In 1950, around 50% of people born in Australia lived in a city. Meanwhile, the percentage of people live towns and rural areas who were born in Australia, with at 20% and 30% respectively. By 2010, citizens lived in city areas who were born in Australia had rose approximately 65%. While the amount of people lived in remaining areas has decreased significantly 15% each.
The percentage of people born ouside Australia has 60% living in cities, 40% lving in towns and about 15% living in rural areas in 1950. By 2010, inhabitants born outside in Australia who lived in cites sharp increased at 80%, while people lived in towns declined slightly at 10% and people lived in countrisides were lowest at around 5%.
