The three graphs provide information on the volume of sodium, saturated fats and added sugars, which immense consumption might be harmful, in four main meals in the united states.
Overall, it is clear that the largest part of consumed sodium and saturated fat constitute dinner meals, while the biggest part of added sugar is consumed by eating snacks.
In regards to sodium and saturated fat, both nutrients are mostly provided in evening meals, more than a third of total usage. Similarly, the proportion of sodium and saturated fat constitute almost a third of all consumption in lunch meals. However, breakfast and snacks contain slightly more than a tenth of total sodium usage, while the percentage of consumed saturated fat amount to 16% and 21% in breakfast meals and in snacks respectively.
In contrast, the biggest part of added sugar, amounting to 42%, contains snacks, whereas slightly less than a quarter of added sugar is consumed by eating dinner meals. In addition, the average proportion of added sugar to breakfast and lunch foods comprise the smallest segment of total consumption, reaching 16 per cent and 19 per cent respectively.
