2. Your friend invited you to go with him/her to a concert next week, however, you are unable to come. Write a letter to your friend.
In your letter
• let your friend know why you can't go to the concert;
• suggest another activity you can do together;
• explain why you think your friend would enjoy this activity.
Dear Sam,
Hope this letter finds you in the best state of health. I am ecstatic to receive the invite of the concert from you. I would first like to share my heartfelt gratitude for this invitation. However, i regret to inform you that i will not be able to make it to the event as i have work commitment on the same day and it is purely coincidental.
I have a final presentation with the management at my workplace for a long term project that is approaching to a conclusion now. The project presentation is of utmost importance, me and my team have been preparing for this task for about a month. Hence it is inevitable for me to conduct.
Nonetheless, to compensate the absence, i suggest planning for a day trip at the nearby botanical garden. It will be a full day activity in the serene atmosphere. I know how much you appreciate outdoor activities and that is why i have well-thought of this trip.
We will enjoy different plants and flowers viewing followed by a BBQ party in the evening. We will also be doing a long due catch-up in the serene environment. I am already excited about the trip.
Once again, i apologies for not showing up on the concert and i hope you understand my situation. I look forward to your confirmation on the suggested alternative plan.
Your Truly,
Aamy
