A friend you met last year has invited you to visit him/her in his/her country. You have never been there before and need some information before you leave.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
request advise about a gift for his/her family
ask about activities and clothing in his/her country
find out about the food
Dear John,
It was a pleasant surprise to hear from you after such a long time and my joy knew no bounds when I saw your invite to your home for Christmas. I'll definitely make it and would need to know a few details to plan my trip as this is the first time I am visiting Canada.
I just want to surprise your dad and mom with a memorable gift that they would cherish. I remember that your mom is just amazing at making cakes and confectionaries and your dad is so interested in reading books. Things would have changed in the last year. So, I need your input regarding this.
Winter can be so hard for outsiders in Canada. If you can tell me something about the clothing that I should bring, I can plan my stuff accordingly. Also, give me some hints on Christmas activities like church visits and prayer meetings to plan my clothing to match the occasion.
As you know, I'm always fond of exploring foods. I would like to make use of this trip to taste different cuisines made during the Christmas festival.
Waiting eagerly for your response!
Take care
Anand.
