In recent years many small local shops have closed because customers travel to large shopping centers or malls to do their shopping Is this a positive or negative development

In these years, those large shopping areas are the main reason for the closure of smaller shops because shoppers are more attracted to roam in big malls for what they are after. To my estimation, this trend sounds to be neither positive nor negative improvement since everything has pros and cons. This essay is based on potent facts and valid instances.

To embark upon, several small brick and mortar stores have been closed due to the popularity of big malls in the era of globalization. This new style of shopping put some small stores' sellers in an unsatisfying situation. In fact, many of them could not keep up their business because it is not profitable and they had to change their jobs and in this duration, they have been jobless for several months. To encapsulate the presented fact let me illustrate an example from an Australian shop keeper. Jony Neran a 54-year-old man had a clothes shop for almost 23 years but due to the recent mall near his shop on the same street, he has lost many customers. If we look at this issue from this angle it is not a beneficial trend due to the lots of people who become bankrupt.

On the other hand, expanding the big shopping malls is a favourable aspect for cities all around the world. First and foremost, these huge malls with their impressive and at the same time appealing buildings bring beauty to the cities. Secondly, Not only people can easily shop in wide areas of malls but also they can go to cafes, restaurants or cinemas in the same mall. In other words, these malls are multi-purpose places which can offer people various services ranging from shopping to watching your favourite movie or go to a food court. To cite an example, it has been a 2years that a large complex has been constructed with all facilities such as theatres, sky lounge and luxurious restaurants near my house Since then I do my shopping there as it is far more convenient to go to different shops as I can find everything in one place.

By way of conclusion, I believe this change has both positive and negative impacts based on the presented facts as well as instances.
