In some cities and towns all over the world, the high volume of traffic is a problem.
What are the causes of this and what actions can be taken to solve this problem?
In this non-stop advancing era, there is a drastic change in the movement of people from one place to another. Most people nowadays prefer to travel in their own personal vehicles rather than using public transport services like local buses, trains, etc. There are multiple causes of this situation and one of the main causes is poor public transit and overcrowded buses or trains. The government must take necessary actions to tackle this menace by indulging more transport on most visiting places to avoid more passengers boarding public vehicles than the desired limit and employ more staff for cleanliness and time management.
To embark with undoubtedly, one of the main causes of increasing traffic is substandard public transit whether it is a train or a bus. Most people avoid using public transport in order to avoid waking up a few hours early than their regular schedule for catching a bus or train on time. Moreover, sometimes public vehicles get late as compared to normal scheduled time and they might miss the transit route by seconds or minutes and have to wait for another planned route for few more minutes resulting in showing up late at work. Therefore, the Government must take this seriously and take necessary steps either to make their transit trustworthy and effective or another solution can be constructing more roads or widening them.
Another main reason why traffic has become a menace on roads is the inconvenience and overcrowding faced by many individuals every day using the public transport system. Most of the local trains and buses are overcrowded with people, making it difficult for travelers to breathe even and female travelers are worst affected because of this issue. This is why more and more people are buying their personal vehicles in order to avoid such kind of hassle. Local authorities must initiate necessary steps to overcome this by adding different compartments in trains for female travelers or providing separate seating arrangements for ladies or kids in all of the buses. Moreover, increasing no. of vehicles on busier or most visiting routes would be an ideal solution to avoid unnecessary overcrowding as well as exhaustion.
In conclusion, considering all the above I believe that every problem comes with a solution and government and few local bodies are entirely responsible for traffic jams on roads and need of an hour is only management of increasing traffic by investing more in public infrastructures like roads, highways, and public transits.
