Dear Jane,
How are you? We last spoke when I was job hunting and that was 3 years ago. I'm extremely happy to let you know that I secured my dream job and have recently been promoted to head of my department. This role allows me to travel frequently and next month I will be flying to Singapore.
Let me explain in detail. Although, the purpose of my visit is to attend a seminar for 3 days, I've decided to extend my stay by a week . As such, leaving me with ample time to explore the city as well as to spend some time catching up with you. Moreover, I'm excited to meet the addition to the family, baby Lia.
Lastly, people have been raving about the Singapore's food and culture and I'm looking forward to indulging myself in some. Wouldn't it be lovely to sip some wine and reminisce about our younger days? Please let me know your availability.
Can't wait to meet you.
Your friend
Mary
