You are applying for a job and you need a letter of reference. Write a letter to a former boss.
In your letter:
1. Describe the job you are applying for
2. Say what you want included in the reference letter
3. Request that your former boss send you the letter by the end of the week.
Dear Mr. Geller,
I am writing to ask you to do me a favor. Would you kindly write a reference letter that is required for my new job? I am applying for a position as an interpreter at Intercom Company located in Tokyo, Japan.
Let me explain in more details. You’ve noticed that I have no experience for this position. However, I have passed my N2 Japanese exam last month and I also be able to speak several foreign languages, such as French and German. So this is really helpful if you mention in the letter about my soft skills, like having good communication and attitudes, and my characters, such as high performance and very hard-working.
Would you kindly send this letter to me by the end of this week? So that I could be able to submit it to Intercom by next Monday since the deadline of job application is just next Tuesday.
I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely,
Thao NGUYEN
