You are due to move into a rented apartment next month but you will not be able to because you have some problems.
Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter
- explain your situation
- describe your problems
- tell him/her when you think you can move in
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to inform you that I will be unable to transfer to my new rented flat next month due to some personal problem.
I have made a contract with your company for the two bedrooms flat at number 20 on North Road, and the contract states that the flat will be ready next month to move in. When I decided the booking dates, I did not have any commitments with my company for any business trip. If I knew their plan, I would choose other suitable dates.
You know that I work at an international company, and they have just signed a contract with an important client where in China. I have been selected in the team who will travel next month to Beijing to review contract`s terms and conditions; therefore, I won’t be available to move into the flat in the due date.
The suitable date for shifting into the flat can be only after returning from China on 1st July 2018. I would be very grateful if you accepted this change in dates and request that you accept my apologize for any inconvenience.
I look forward to receiving your reply.
Yours faithfully,
Ayoub
