You are planning a short visit to a city where one of your relatives lives Write a letter to your relative In your letter Explain when and how long you will be in town Ask whether you can stay at their home Offer to pay for yourself

Dear Gargi,

How are you doing? Hope you are in best of health and spirits. I have been given a short assignment in Hongkong next month, so was wondering if I could stay at your place for 2 days? Initially, my company had planned to book a hotel near the airport, but I requested them to hold on for a while.

Firstly, I have been really missing our conversations and evening sessions in Singapore. It would be a great catch up session for both of us. Moreover, I will be working only few hours a day and the rest of the time I can spend with you, especially the evenings galavanting and city hopping. Although am aware of the space constraint over there but rest assured I will be quite comfortable as compared to staying in a hotel. Also, your place is very accessible with respect to my workplace and airport. Additionally, we don't waste any time as I am travelling for a very short span of time.

Lastly, since this is my official trip and I will be reimbursed for all my expenses during my stay in Hongkong, I insist that you should consider me as a paying guest for these two days. I would love to pay all the bills as it would be quite a fair deal. I am looking forward for my trip and meeting you after a very long time. Let me know whether it is a viable option for you as well.

Lots of love and awaiting your reply

Warm wishers,
Nur Amirah
