You have just received a credit card statement from your bank. The statement lists a number of expensive purchases that you are sure you did not make.
Write a letter to the bank manager. In the letter:
• Introduce yourself.
• Explain that you did not buy the items listed.
• Say what you would like the bank to do to fix the problem.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am one of your bank’s Visa credit holder. I am writing to you Today to report an anonymous transaction added in my January 2020 credit card bill. I am very disappointed to see an unknown purchase list attached to my Monthly bill.
Firstly, I was startled seeing my due amount for the first Month of this Year. Thus, I went through the bill and found five different charges of buying some items from various places in Denmark. I am confident it is not me because last whole month I was away from London to Italy on a business trip. I could submit some references of my presence at Italy as an evidence such as, flight to and fro tickets, hotel bookings. Consequently, I doubt someone has hacked my credit card details. Therefore, I want you to block my credit card immediately and do a diligence check on these transaction. After that, waiver these transaction from my bill and issue me a new bill reflecting my actual last month transactions with a new credit card.
Thank you for your prompt action on this matter and fulfilling my request.
Yours faithfully,
Sayu
