You have received a letter from your university of Albion demanding a reason for your absence
from an exam. You were ill that day, but failed to submit the evidence. Write a letter to the
Examinations Committee explaining your situation. You should include:
– Apologies for the situation
– Identification for yourself (Name, Student Number, Case Number)
– An explanation of what had happened and any possible evidence you may have
– Possible resolutions to consider.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in response to the letter received from the examination department from the university of Albion.
My name is Mihira Muppidi bearing the student number 102345, in the final semester of architecture course of case number 23456. I would start by apologizing for not informing the university about my absence and also failing to provide the required documents to validate the treatment for my illness.
On 25th November, I had a take away from a nearby Chinese restaurant for dinner which resulted in a bad stomach and diarrhea. I could neither have a proper sleep nor time to revise for the examination. I was rushed to the hospital by our professor who stays in the same building as I in the middle of the night. As it takes few days to clear the hospital expenses by my insurance company, I could was handed any reports or bills during my discharge. However, the professor was handed over a recept of my admission with date and time which could act as an evidence that I was indeed at the hospital during the date of examination.
Therefore, I request the examination committee to consider the acknowledgment from the hospital as a temporary document until I receive my reports and complete receipts from the hospital.
I look forward to receiving a positive response from you.
Yours sincerely,
Mihira Muppidi
