Dear Mr and Mrs Anderson,

I am writing for the advertisement on hiring a Cantonese language teacher posted in LinkedIn on 20 September 2020. I am Samuel, a native speaker of Cantonese who live in Hong Kong would like to apply for the job.

It is rarely found a post on Cantonese language teacher in Australia. Cantonese is a totally different language, in both grammar and the pronunciation from English. As Cantonese is my mother tongue and used every day, I know everything of Cantonese, from the sentence structure, accent, idioms and even the latest gag that you and your children may want to learn. Furthermore, I am a graduate on childhood education diploma certificate, I am sure my teaching would not be boring and full of fun. The youngsters should enjoy the learning.

From my experience, the teaching may start from what is the Cantonese on some commonly used words in your daily living. It could attract the child’s interest and the curiosity. After that, we may try to learn some simple sentences like greeting and thank you. Cantonese is quite difficult in writing for foreigners and this part would be done around 1 month later.

I am very excited on apply this job as this match my final year project on how to teach the foreign students on Cantonese. I am sure my ability and skill should let your children learn Cantonese in a happy atmosphere.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
Samuel Tse
