You live near a university and would like to earn some extra money by renting a room in your apartment to a student. Write a letter to the university housing office. In your letter
1. Introduce yourself
2. Explain why your apartment would be a good living place for a student.
3. Describe the room you have for rent.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to inform the University housing office about a vacant room in my apartment. My job entails travelling out of town regularly. I would very much like to rent a room to a student. I would like to ask you to let me know if you find the suitable student.
My name is Dorcas Sun, I am a Medical Doctor involved in community health care in the next two towns. I live at No2, Bridgebow lane just a walking distance to the school.I would like to rent a room in my apartment to a student, preferably a returning student interested in changing accomodation.
Bridgebow street is a quiet street with free flow of traffic, majority of whom are the University staff, so he/she can easily catch a ride into the school when late. My rent is quite low as compared to others and there are a wide range stores close by.
The room available for went is a medium sized room upstairs, it belonged to my Son who is now married. It is comfortably furnished with a student reading table, chair, shelves and rug. It has a balcony with another side staircase attached, this way he/she gets enough privacy.
Please let me know if you find a suitable student who is interested. Thank you in advance for your help.
Yours Sincerely,
Dorcas Sun.
