Dear Sir or Madam,
This letter is regarding my concerns on the closing of our local sports and leisure center.
I and my family have been using the community center since many years. Both my parents have health issues, and have been using the community center gym to keep in good shape and improve their cholesterol levels. Also, my teenage son and daughter regularly use the swimming pool for their swim practice lessons. And, I have been using it to play basketball along with my friends.
There is no doubt that this sports and leisure center as been an integral part of our community. Many of our senior citizens in the community gather here during the evenings to spend time with each other, and a lot of teenagers use it as a place to hangout and play sports. Plus, during the winter time it is a great place for all indoor activities.
The closing of this center would have a very negative impact on the whole community. Firstly, it will have a major health impact because all the people who have been doing exercise here will not have a place to workout, this would not only deteriorate their physical health, but also their mental and emotional health. The next major impact will be on all the young children who are physically active when they are here at the center, who will now turn to playing video games and watching television, which will make them obese and inactive.
Considering all the disadvantages of closing this sports and leisure center, I request you to please consider keeping this center open for the welfare of our whole community.
