You want to improve your English and a friend has given you contact details for a private teacher. Write a letter to the teacher and say:
why you want to improve your English
how the teacher can help you
when you would like to start having lessons?
Dear Mr Pierson,
My friend Toni Atari recommended you as a qualified teacher of English, so I am writing to you asking to help me improve my language skills.
Recently I decided to emigrate to Canada and started the process with a lawyer. To meet the language requirements, I must take the IELTS General test and earn a high score.
Unfortunately, while three parts of the test are easy to pass, my writing skills require improvement. I have tried to pass the test twice, but each time I failed. I would like to take English classes from you and will be grateful if you agree to teach me.
Because my next test trial is scheduled for June 20th, which is in a month, I would like to start our classes immediately. I work from 9 am till 6 pm, so I have time for studying only in the evenings and during weekends. With such a lack of time, I am willing to spend at least 4 hours a week preparing for IELTS with your assistance.
Please let me know about your availability and conditions of your tutoring.
I look forward to hearing from you on your decision as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Olga Simpson.
