Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my opposition to recent decision on local community centre. It is vitally important for country dwellers to have healthy and happy life, and thus it must continue to provide service.

First of all, many elderly people for example my mother who suffers from arthritis go swiming regularly which makes them relaxed and strong. Many childrens also join art classes such as pottery, watercolor painting or sculpture at the weekends which help them develop a strong sense of individualism, self esteem and self reflection.

Secondly, it is an essential facility for parents who want to spend time with loved ones since there are numerous sport activities available which they can attend together. Further and more importantly, 80% of people living in this town are over fifty consequently it is vital for them to release their energy and to recharge their batteries with peers.

Finally, many people will move to cities which provide a wide range of facilities and amenities unless there are enough swimming pools, care homes and art centres. Many parents want children develop many skills in early ages, and thus if there is a scarcity of such facilities, rural depopulation will be a major problem. Moreover, community service will not be provided adequately since there will not be enough workers to clean streets and drive buses. I hope these detrimental consequences will be discussed seriously.

I am looking forward to hearing cancellation of it promptly.
Yours faithfully,
Mary Brown
