The significance of going for a live class had been impacted and reduced due to the internet, as it provides a way for lecturers to put their lessons in it. I admit that it is a boon for students to have the luxury of getting educated without even attending it, However, it can be a disadvantage in some circumstances. Let us discuss on both the sides of this trend followed by its impact on future studies.
Firstly, students can study anywhere anytime without physically attending the lecture, thanks to the internet, becuase it can be accessed no matter where you are or what time is it. As a result, getting an education has become easy for them, for example, my sister is working and she had an exam for higher studies, so she completed her preparation online while commuting to the office. Moreover, it will not hamper the learning process for a student if he/she is unable to attend the lecture due to some emergency or personal cause, for instance, I remember during my 1st year in college, I was on bed rest and could not attend it, thus I completed my sessions online and gave the exam. Additionally, as there is no time limitation for online lectures, one can post queries and comments and can get the response for the same, which in turn is not everytime possible in face to face class.
However, there are some problems with this kind of approach where students are missing classes like there will be no eye contact between teachers and students resulting in less understanding of a concept. Similarly, they will not pay much attention to online tutorials in comparison to physical classes, for instance, my personal experience is that I was more attentive during teacher's presence, may be due to respect or they were strict, on the other hand, I was more casual studying online.
Admittedly, it will have a good impact on future education as it will make life easy for students to learn irrespective of being anywhere in the world. Also, it will bring together different countries to share their knowledge and languages to other parts of the world, in fact, I also have learned french online without having access to their classes.
To conclude, Although it is true that it will be easy for students to gain knowledge from any part of the world through the internet, we need to keep in mind that other than book knowledge, it is equally important to keep the teacher-student relationship alive as there are many good things to learn from them apart from books.
