Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
In the past, young people depended too much on their parents to make decisions for them; today young people are better able to make decisions about their own lives.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Decision-making and individual autonomy are fundamental pillars within contemporary society. In our increasingly chaotic and fast-paced world, the ability to make wise and precise decisions has become crucial. A contentious question often raised pertains to whether children should be allowed to make autonomous decisions or whether they should seek guidance from their parents. While some individuals argue in favor of parental involvement, I firmly believe that independent decision-making is more advantageous for students. In order to substantiate my viewpoint, the subsequent paragraphs will provide a brief overview of the most compelling reasons.

First and foremost, one compelling rationale supporting my standpoint is the multitude of opportunities available today for children to gain firsthand experience. The essence of an independent society lies in individuals' capacity to act and think autonomously, separate from their parents' influence. Given the contemporary nature of our society, it has become increasingly feasible for individuals to acquire personal experiences through trial and error. To illustrate this point further, I can draw upon my own personal experience. During my adolescence, my family made the decision for me to study and live in a different city. It was an arduous experience to leave behind my family and friends, and navigate unfamiliar situations. However, the ability to independently forge my own path had clear benefits. I acquired valuable life skills and learned how to overcome challenges.

The second rationale supporting this perspective is grounded in the notion that when students learn how to think independently, they enhance their cognitive abilities. By fostering independent thinking and creating an environment that empowers children to make their own decisions, parents enable the development of crucial skills such as problem-solving. Trusting children with autonomy can contribute to the creation of a better society, one that values independent thought and critical reasoning, both of which are essential in today's world.

In conclusion, due to the aforementioned reasons, fostering independent thinking can greatly benefit students by enhancing their cognitive abilities and enabling them to overcome life's challenges. It is anticipated that when society fosters an environment in which parents grant their children the autonomy to make their own decisions, the quality of life for individuals will significantly improve.

Better to have 5 paragraphs with 3 arguments. And try always support/against one side but compare two sides, like this:

para 1: introduction
para 2: reason 1. address both of the views presented for reason 1
para 3: reason 2. address both of the views presented for reason 2
para 4: reason 3. address both of the views presented for reason 3
para 5: conclusion.

So how to find out those reasons. There is a formula:

reasons == advantages or

reasons == disadvantages

for example, we can always apply 'save time', 'save/make money', 'find a job', 'make friends', 'get more information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.

or we can apply 'waste time', 'waste money', 'no job', 'make bad friends', 'get bad information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
