"My major at university."
My major was biomedical engineering. It was an exciting field. It concerns of both medical and engineering. It has many branches and fields.
I studied Biomedical engineering at the university. It's an interesting field that is concerned with the application of engineering and science methodologies, to the analysis of biomedical and physiological problems and to the delivery of health care. It gives you an advance knowledge in engineering, biology and medicine and try to improve human health. This field seeks to close the gap between engineering and medicine. In the field of biomedical engineering there are different specialty areas such as bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, biomaterial, system physiology, clinical engineering and rehabilitation engineering.
As an examples of work done by biomedical engineers include designing and constructing cardiac peace makers, designing computer systems to monitor patient during surgery or in intensive care. My field was system physiology that is the term used to describe that aspect of biomedical engineering in which engineering strategies, techniques and tools are used to gain a comprehensive and integrated understanding of the functions of the living systems. It has been claimed that many biological systems Including the brain and the heart have chaotic properties, as well as the atmosphere, neurons and electronic circuits. Modeling of the complex behavior of such systems is a very useful way to follow and understanding their behaviors as well.
Modeling is used in the analysis of experimental data and in formulation mathematical description of physiological events. My final Ms. Project was about modeling the brain response to flicker light that try to help better understanding and predicting the complex way from eye to the brain.
