One of the most significant feature of each student is that he/she has to know when the right time for speaking is. When it comes to the issue of correcting a mistake of the lecturer, some students believe that they have to talk about that immediately, some others think they have to inform the educator after the session, still others suppose that they have to be quiet since the teacher will find it on his/her own. As far as I am concerned, I believe the second idea carries more weight. I will enlarge on what I mean in the following paragraphs.
First and foremost, cut off lecturers because of his/her mistakes can lead to a tense atmosphere. The imagination of a class in which everyone wants to correct the teacher's mistakes makes everybody crazy since it is likely that all the students want to talk simultaneously. As a result, the teacher will be mad at them and it gives rise to undesired circumstances. Take one of my university classes, for illustration. At one time, our professor had some personal problems, so he had a number of mistakes in the class. All of a sudden, all the students wanted to inform him about one of his mistakes which was so obvious. That result in chaotic atmosphere and made our teacher angry, so he did not let us speak anymore.
The other reason which deserves some words here is that the teacher will repeat his/her mistake, if we say nothing about that. Nowadays, teachers have to work too hard to make ends meet, so they may not pay attention to their lecture. In addition, they do not have enough time to revise them. Therefore, it is possible that those mistakes will be repeated in the next semesters. However, when the teachers are informed about their mistakes after the classes, they can correct them.
Another subtle point which I should explain lies in the fact that talking about others' mistakes in front of the population by interrupting them is kind of rudeness and unethical. As our old wise people said "It is polite not to interrupt others." Consequently, waiting until the end of the meeting to tell him/her about what mistakes he/she made during the meeting is the best method to correct his/her mistakes.
To sum up, given the facts that talking during the class to put the lecturer's mistakes right can cause to tense situations, also it is not polite to behave in that manner. In addition, being quiet may lead to similar mistake in next classes, I am of the opinion that lecturers should be informed about their mistakes after the class/meeting.
