agnostids behavior

Essay topics:

agnostids behavior

In the lecture the professor made several points about agnostids living. The professor argues that agnostids would not be a predator, seafloor dweller and parasite. The professors lecture casts doubt on the reading by using the following reasons.
First, the professor states that large eye and well-developed eye ability is a contributoary factor to be a predator. In fact, other predator in open ocean have a great eyesight capacity that assist them to attract the pray. The professor stresses that, agnostids are blind and have a poor eye vision and as a result they probably could not be a predator. In addition the professor highlights that they should have a particular sense organ to make them a predator but no special organ have been observed in the fossil records. In contrast, the reading makes it clear that they would be a hunters of smaller animals.
Second the professor describes that, seafloor dweller are not able to move fast and far. Consequently, they move slowly and stay in their local area specially in their original region and occupy the small area. The professor adds that, agnostids seems not to be a sea dweller since they can move fast and spread in large distances. On the contrary, the professor specifies that, they are more likely to be a seafloor settler.
Third, the professor clarifies that, population of parasite constrain a small range in order to be killed by other organism. Indeed, agnostids could not be a parasite because of the great size population. On the other hand, the reading mentions that agnostids were potentially parasite.
In conclusion, the points made in the lecture refutes the hypothesis of the reading passage. Above reasons demonstrates that contributing agnostids to predator, parasites and seafloor dweller is in doubt.
