Although dinosaurs are considered as the strongest creatures that have ever lived on Earth they were not strong enough to defy extinction Since there are no definite data that could identify the cause of extinction many theories have been suggested These

Recently, there has been a ton of debate as to how dinosaurs became extinct. More specifically, in regard to the passages, the writer puts forth the idea that three possible ideas explain their end. In the listening passage, the lecturer is quick to point out that there are some serious flaws in the writer's claims. In fact, the professor believes there must be another explanation and addresses, in detail, the trouble with each point made in the reading text.

First and foremost, the author of the reading states that the most reasonable logic behind their termination is through an asteroid. He explains that many scientists have found iridium in rock layers, indicating that a significant amount of an asteroid fell many years ago. Some professionals in the same field, however, stand in firm opposition to this claim. In the lecture, for instance, the professor affirms that iridium is not a material only found in asteroid belts but in the interior of the earth. He goes on to say that it is likely that volcanic eruptions brought iridium from the core toward the surface.

One group of scholars, represented by the writer, thinks that the ice age killed all the dinosaurs since they tended to be vulnerable to extreme weather conditions, especially the cold. Of course, though, not all experts in this field believe this is accurate. Again, the speaker specifically addresses this point when he contends that dinosaurs had the capability to survive in hot and humid temperatures, referring to how they would have survived against the cold. Moreover, he notes that the sea level was high, and the temperature remained similar throughout the ages.

Last but not least, the author wraps up his argument by positing that dinosaurs simply evolved into modern birds. Archaeological evidence illustrates that dinosaurs and current birds display similar atomic features. Not surprisingly, the lecturer takes issue with this claim by arguing that dinosaurs have a limited range of movement, unlike birds that can fly, dodge objects, and strike. Thus, the logic behind it means that birds could not have been dinosaurs in the first place.

To sum up, both the writer and professor hold conflicting views about the theories about the cessation of dinosaurs. It is evident that they will have trouble finding common ground on this subject.
