Animal fossils

Animal fossils

The reading and lecture are both about Tyrannosaurus rex which existed 70 million years ago. The author of the reading feels that the tissue of the Tyrannosaurus rex is the actual tissue and represents some seasons for holding the aspect. The lecturer challenged the claim made by the author. He is on the opinion that the reasons are sceptical.

To begin with, the author argues that the bones contained a hollow space where the organic blood cells may be located. He also claims that the soft substance contained in the channels may be the actual blood vessels of the Tyrannosaurus rex. The specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. He mentions that soft substance remained in the hollow space may be other substance. Bacteria may live that place and this bacteria was the soft substances.

Second, the writer suggests that the inner bone contained spheres where red blood cells observed. He also states that the sphere contains iron which is the main substance of red blood cells. The lecturer rebuts this by mentioning that reddish spheres found any blood cell of ancient animals. The spheres had probably used for a different feature like mineral.

Third, the author posits that evidence proved that dinosaur leg bones contained collagen. He also additionally says, collagen the main substance of the fibre and it found only living bone tissue. In contrast, the lecturer position is that collagen found the only animal lived 1000 years ago and this Tyrannosaurus rex was from 70-million years ago, thus it was not convincing. He also notes that it did not come from the T-rex, may be from other sources like a human. Only human contains collagen and may be when human handling the T-rex collagen comes from that source.
