Avocados
The author of the topic tries to prove that avocados are very beneficial fruits. He has three arguments in support of this opinion. But the lecturer challenges all of them.
First, the author writes, avocados can be used for lowering blood pressure because of plenty of vitamins and minerals inside. But the lecturer says that avocados also have a lot of fats. Hence, they don't seem healthy for a human, leading to the weight increase and, moreover, high blood pressure, the opposite thing relative to what the author wanted to prove.
Secondly, the author states that avocados are useful for pregnant women. The lecturer strongly opposes this statement because of several reasons. The first one is that avocados have the bad impact to the future milk production. Moreover, he adds, consumption of avocados also leads to bad consequences for a fetus, and thus should be avoided.
Finally, the lecturer casts doubt to the argument that avocados are cheap and can even successfully change meat for vegans. Avocados, according his words, are not so cheap. He concludes that they are very expensive comparing with other popular fruits, such as bananas. He also says that a lot of water is used to grow avocados, so it becomes very damaging for the environment to produce it, even in a comparision with meat.
