Cane toads fast spread
The passage was about the ways of preventing cane toads spread in Australia and proposes three methods of controling them. however the lecture takes the other side nad critisize each of these methods.
The first way the article claims, is building a national fence that blocks them from going to un-affected parts of the country and states that there were similar succesful experiances controling rabbits. The profesoor in the lecture claims that this method wouldn't be succeful since streams of water will carry some of toads and their eggs and this will be enough for them to be reproduced.
Second method proposed in the passage, is organizing campaign among citizens to capture and destroy toads and their eggs. The professor states that however it is good way but it may have bad consequences. since toads will be captures by ordinary citizens who do not recognize them, in this method, many types of frogs and other endegoured species will also be destroyed and may cause them to be distinct.
The passage also avers that the scientist are developing a virus that will prevent toads from maturing and reproducing. The professor refutes this idea and claims that this will lead bad consequenses and may cause other animals to be destroyed and also it wil lead variations in the ecosystem
