Reading explain the advantage of hydrogen based fuel cell engine over internal combustion engine and provides three points to support the theory. The lecture disputes the points made in reading.
First, reading claims that internal combustion are limited and may be run out in upcoming years but hydrogen can be found easily from many sources and renewable. In contrast, orator contends that the form of hydrogen- liquid form, are not available directly from nature, which is almost artificial form at extremily cold temperature so difficult to produce.
Second, article asserts that this new form of energy is solve the problem of pollution because it is made by using hydrogen and water on the other hand, combustion energy released lot of carbon dioxide which is harmful for environment. Inversely, lecture states that actually to manufacture pure form of hydrogen, there is lot of coal and oil burning which cause the pollution.
Finally, reading contends that hydrogen energy consumption is half as compare to internal combustion engine to cover same distance, which means hydrogen fuel is less expensive than internal combustion engine. On the other hand, lecture suggests that for the manufacture of hydrogen energy we need platinum metal, which is hardly available and expensive so it is almost more expensive than combustion engine.
In conclusion, according to lecture to manufacture hydrogen based fuel energy is expensive and not pollution free and not easy process.
