Is Eco certification of wood important for American companies or not.
The article provides information about ecocertification of wood companies and mentions that many companies adopted this quality, but costs doubt on fact that American companies would accept it. However, the professor on the other hand argues reasons in the reading passage and brings his points out which are following.
In the beginning, the reading passage suggests that American consumers would not pay attention on advertisement of ecocertified companies or trust them, because many products are labeled “new”, but they are not. The lecturer does not agree with it and explains that many people appreciate pliable advertisements, so they will accept the offer from that companies.
Second, according to the article companies should pay specialists to certify wood, therefor ecocertified wood would cost much more than uncertified one. However, the lecturer mentions that people would not buy whether ecocertified wood costs too much, but if their price is not too higher costumers would buy this one’s rather than uncertified, non-renewable timber.
And finally, the reading passage highlights that American companies sell their products most of all in abroad and if they gain certification, their certified wood could not compete with other countries. The otherwise, the professor says that if American countries would not pursue certification companies of other countries would occupy American markets, so American companies will be slowly passed out from competition.
To summarize all facts, in the article main idea was that American companies would not accept ecocertification and there were three reasons supporting that. Nevertheless, the professor brings his points suggesting that American companies would admit ecocertification.
