franchise
The author describes the advantages of buying a franchise for people who want to start their new business. However, the speaker states that it is not a good idea to have a franchise and describes the disadvantages.
The author says that it’s a great opportunity for people who want to open their business for the first time because of three reasons. First, if you are a franchising owner you are saved from serious losses because most franchise companies provide reliable and dependable suppliers. Moreover, you can save a lot of money on advertising because you will sell an already popular, recognized, and well-advertised by parent company products. Finally, franchise provides an inexperienced business owners more security than independent businesses which have a very high failure rate.
The speaker opposes these points made by author by giving next reasons. First, a franchise company forces the franchise owner to buy a very specific products and services which makes the franchise owners dependent on parent company. Second, the franchise owners have to pay 6% of their sales which is very high tariff for them. Also the parent company advertises only its products not franchise owner’s business which contributes to a little benefit. And finally, franchising may be less risky for first-time business owner but it is not secure. But there is another option for people who want to start their new business, they can buy an already independent business which can be less risky and more secure option for them.
