Groups are good for members
Both reading and lecture are about the group works. The author says that team working is beneficial for members, but on the other hand, the professor refutes the perception of the author and claims that team working is not helpful for members who work inside the team. The lecturer points out on the main topics made in the passage by providing three reasons.
First, according to the passage, the author asserts that team individuals have extraordinary knowledge which contribute all of them. However, the lecturer refuses this idea and explains that team members do not cooperate each other as well. He brings an example of a company that shows people of a team take free rights while there is a group work. He adds that when a factory did a research of its groups, it found that most individuals are opposite of each other and do not support the rules of the funder.
Secondly, it is stated in the passage that participating in group works is useful for group members. Therefore, the lecturer declines this opinion and says that a company do not go ahead quickly when there are lots of groups inside it. He gives evidence that members of the group need many meetings and sessions to accompany each other.
Finally, the author accepts that each individual has the opportunity to express his/her idea. Furthermore, the professor denies this idea and says that attitude of each member in the group influence on the other members. He states that the group member would ignore the idea which is not based on his/her believes.
To sum up, the author says that working in a group of member is useful; however, the professor does not confirm this opinion and says it is not good to work in a team. He provides many examples which point the author's opinions out.
