Integrated Essay
Reading put forth a situation, being very famous settlement in England, archeologist are having trouble in
saving valuable archeological sites in this modern 20th century, while lecture refutes that policy has to be followed
in order to promote archeologist work.
Firstly, lecture talks about that law to investigate a place prior to construction is being incorporated.
If any artifacts are discovered, it is mandatory to save it and proving details about that artifact, thereby
preventing destruction of archeology work. This argument is against reading, as reading states increasing
number of population make development of new fascinating buildings inevitable to accommodate large no of people.
Secondly, lecture states next step to prevent destruction, that law is imposed on citizens that archeologist will be
sponsored by the construction companies and not by the government. This argument is contradictory to the reading passage,
that archeology field is suffering from financial crisis due to lack of enough money from government to explore many new sites and projects.
Thirdly, reading implies that many people are avoiding to enter archeology field due to less number of jobs available in market. But the lecturer denies, encouraging and appreciating archeologist work will increase job opportunities and widen scope of practice Thus, it serves as incentive for many people to join this field and explore many more places.
As a result, lecture successfully proved that benefits of archeology are more than drawbacks.
