integrated task
The reading asserts that it is impossible to maintain a permanent human life on venuse due to some difficulties. The lecturer however finds the idea dubious and casts doubt on the reasons proposed by the reading passage. The lecturer confirms that there is some challenges in living on this planet but by establishing a floating station in 50 killometer above the atmospher the problems would be solved.
First the author argues that since the atmosphere pressure at venus surface is much greater than that of earth, all spacecrafts would be crushed while are landing. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that the aformentiond solution would be omit this occuring because of the much lower atmosphere above the surface, in 50 killometer hieght.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that not only there is no water storage on venus but also the atmosphere contains some compound chemichals with no oxygene and water. In addition importing water from earth is an impractical idea for solving this matter. On the contrary, the professor underlines the fact that althogh there is no water on the surface of venus, the water could be produced out of chemical coumpounds making up atmosphere such as carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid in the station so there is no need to supply water from earth.
Finally, the reading asserts that the thick clouds in the atmosphere leads to passing only 40% of sunlight into the venus surface and consequencely 60% of sunlight reflect back. In contrast, the speaker dismisses this issue due to the fact that the clouds in 50 killometers higher than surface are not very thick wich allow more amount of sunlight to pass through. In addition, the more electricity could be generated from the solar power from above and from the reflection of it inorder to power the station.
