Many consumers ignore commercial advertisements. In response, advertising companies have started using a new tactic, called “buzzing." The advertisers hire people, buzzers, who personally promote (buzz) products to people
The article states that The advertisers hire people who promote goods to people they know or meet, and buzzers do not reveal that they're being paid to promote anything, as the result, buzzing has generated a lot of controversy, however, the lecturer, which he is a buzzer, states that the article is miss leading the readers, and refutes each of author's reasons.
First, the reading claims that buzzers don't tell their customer that they're praising a product, because they are paid for. The speaker refutes this point by saying that buzzers tell the truth to the customers, and those people who use the product know about the quality of the product so they become buzzers themselves.
Second, the article writes that, consumers listen to buzzers because they don't know what's going on, therefore, they don't ask too much question, and don't look at the product with a critical point of view. The speaker says, actually people ask a lot of questions about the price, the service and the length of the service they provide, otherwise they won't buy it.
Third, the reading says that, buzzing may have harmful effect on the social relationship and communication. The lecturer oposes this point by explaining that, if a company has low quality product won't be able to hire buzzers, so those companies, that have buzzers to advertise for them, are really goo companies.
