In many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team.
Summarize the points made in the lecture you just heard, explaining how they cast doubt on points made in the reading.
The response gave the disadvantages of working in groups based on a research conducted on the efficacy of team projects as opposed to the position of the passage. The research revealed how various members of a group make different levels of contributions to the success of a projects yet they all receive same recognition especially in the case of members that contribute very little. This view cast a dark look on the all-members recognition advocated for by the passage. While the passage claims that team projects are faster to execute, the research shows how this is not the case at times. Team projects can take long to execute due to the lengthy time usually spent before a consensus is reached.
Moreover, the research pointed out how during the execution of a team project, there are members whose opinions or consent to a strategy hold more sway that others, leading the team to select a less than optimal plan or as the case may be, a terrible one. Also, the other members in the group whose superb ideas were not followed get to partake in the blame as well when the project ends up a failure. In essence, the professor demonstrated through the research that working in groups may not be the best policy for a company.
