Professors should attain tv shows or not
The article states that professors giving expert commentary is benificial for their own reputation, for university's promotion and also a good communicational medium to distribute knowledge among general people to let them come to know about latest technological advances. However professor thake the stand that it is nor benificial to professor's reputation neither to the univesity, and refutes each of the author's reasons.
The first point in reading claims that professors giving expert lecture gains reputation, but the professor in lecture claims that, this act gives a negative impact on other professor's mind and thinks, this professor dedicates less time to research and other important activity and with this the professor is not invited in important seminars and discussion.
Secondly, the reading paragraph states that, with the professor giving expert lecture on television makes a positive impact on university's reputation and in turn attracts more donation and application from students, but the professor in lecture says that, this wastes the important time of professor. Telivision shows consumes time for transportation, retake, good look, etcetra. This time dedicated for research and for interaction with students would be much more usefull.
Third the reading says that it the professors lecture on telivision would be good for knowledge distribution among general people and as this people don't have much contact with professor's, they would also come to know about ongoing technological advancement. But the professor in lecture claims that the expert shows would just provide general overview of the subject and other fundamental things, and the same can be provided by the telivision anchors by doing little research on their own.
