The article here states about the famous dutch painter Rembrandt of the seventeenth century and provides that one of painting known as Potrait of an Elderly Women in a White Bonnel casted doubt that was it actually made by him. However, the professor in the lecture explains that each and every point made in article was false and the painting was made by Rembrandt.
First, the article states about the dressing of women. The cap was a kind of what servant wore and other the collar of the coat won't be affordable to servant. So there was a mismatch in dressing. However, the professor here talks about the X-Ray analysis and says that the collar of the coat was made much after the painting was made atleast after 100 years from the date it was painted.
Second, the article describes the error in painting light and shadow in which he was a master. The professor refutes to this by saying that in the original painting there was light coloured cloth which is the cause of illumination of light on face. And that part of painting was repainted to make the painting appear large and best.
Third, the article says that the Rembrandt used wood panel and the painting had pieces of wood glued with each other which was not his style. The professor here states that to enlarge the painting the wood pieces were used. And the tree from which the wood pieces were made was similar to the wood used in his painting know as Self Potrait with Hat. And thus we come to know that the paiting was originally made by Rembrandt and later in time was edited to give a grandiose effect.
