The lecture and the reading are talking about carved stone balls. The lecture opposes the main idea of the reading and logically dispute all the specific points in the reading .According to the reading the sciences found more stone characteristics. However, the professor in his lecture refutes this argument and challenges all the reason in the reading.
First, the reading mention that the stone balls was used as an instrument for hunt and fight. The lecture present another point of view. Some stones indeed present areas of wearing,But the most of then not. They regullary are well preserved and show little or nothing of damage.
Secondly, the reading claims that the stone ball were use as a part of measures systems. Nevertheless the lectures state that. All the stones even when their size are similar. The difference is the mass and density. the stones are quartz, sand, and green. So, is almost impossible establish a pattern to scale.
Finally the reading says that the mining of the stones in the social status of the owners was evidence. The professor address the last point and refutes this claim starting with. The stone was extremely simple so that theory cannot by true. Do to the fact no evidence of stone were found on tombs or grut . As conclusion those do not remark the social status in the community.
