Summarise the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they case doubt on specific points made in the reading passage.

"Great hoses " which is used by settlements of Chaco Canyon in New Mexico has a stone building that contains hundreds of rooms with three or four stories high. Archaeologists try to determine what is the purpose of this building. Both the lecturer and reading discuss three types of the purpose of this property. The former was not convinced about the usage of the building while the lateral emphasizes the reasons for the building.

The first point of the discussion revolves around the Chaco building were used for residential purposes. The instructor explains that the inside structure of the building cast doubts about its residential use. He says that if it uses for families they suppose to have many fireplaces for cooking but they don't have many. They just have ten fireplaces which are not enough for 100 families to leave. However, the article claims that Chaco houses appear similar to the well-known "apartment buildings" at Taos, New Mexico, in which many people have been living for centuries.

Moreover, another topic of debate is Chaco property was used to store food supplies. Once again the speaker was not agreed about the usage of the building. He mentions that if this property was used for storage of grain maize then why they didn't find any evidence of grain maize during excavation and there were no big containers for storage also, neither there was any spile of maize on the floor. On the other hand, the text mention that the size of the building was perfect to store maize for a long period without damage.

Last but not least, we reach the final argument about the property were used as ceremony purpose. The professor says that evidence was not well supported. He points out that they found other building construction materials like sand, etc with the large broken pot. He says that these large pots might use for food storage for the people who work in that property. Nevertheless, the passage highlight that a large number of broken pots were used for special ceremonies.
