Question : Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they challenge the specific theories presented in the reading passage.

The lecture is disagreeing with the passage. There are three different reasons mentioned in the passage to demonstrate the fact, the silver coin is not original. On the other hand, the lecture estimates the reasons in the passage to improve that, the theory can be true and the coin perhaps is a pice real historical evidence.
To begin with, the passage says this amount of distance between the location that coin was found and the site that Norse has been discovered is not believable. In comparison, the lecture says this can not be a good reason, because, North Americans had a good relationship with Europe. Thus, It can be possible that they went there and on their way back, they just bring silver coins with them.
the second reason is that the passage says there isn't any other coin in the area. However, the lecture says it can not be an appropriate reason, because there are lots of other European valuable objects in that area and the silver coin can be one of them.
the last reason is that passage says the coin was not valuable in America, In contrast, the lecture says it can possible that European people traveled there and they just pack all their valuable objects for a trip. And the coin was one of them and they returned the objects to Europe.
