Question----------Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific solutions presented in the reading passage.Reading Passage--------------------The cane toad is a large (1.8 kg) amphibian species native

Both the reading passage and the lecture discussing about method of controlling the Cane Toad but in contrast way to the reading passage.

Firstly, the reading passage explains that Toad was introduce in the Central America and South America to reduce the harmful insects but unfortunately this animal became over populated and started destroying the crops. So to control this species reading passage suggests that national fencing in Australia will help them to reduce the Toad population growth but the speaker refutes this statements by stating that the young Toad and it's eggs can travel through the stream easily so this method not going to works out.

Secondly, the reading passage says that by arranging the volunteer to trap this animal because easy to catch them or kill the it's eggs, so that they can control the population of the Toad. But the lecturer contrast this point by stating that untrained volunteer may trap the frog which is so Eco friendly in the Australia. This plan may end up with serious problems.

Thirdly, the reading passage states that introducing the virus disease which capable of killing the Toad but it wont harm other animals in the habitat. But the professor conversely says that, this plan could very dangerous to america eco system because the virus not only kill the Toad but also kills the reptiles, amphibians and more over the since Australian are doing overseas business with america that infected Toad may spread the infection in the US environment also that would be very dangerous disaster to US ecological system.

To sum up the speaker says that whatever possible method the reading passage suggests that has some kind negative impact or practical impossibilities are there according to the speaker.
