The reading and the lecture are both about the how efficient teamwork can be in approaching new projects. While the author of the article argues that the best way for it is to gather a group of people into a team , The lecturer disputes the claims mentioned in the article. His position is that , projects done by a team may be more probable to fail in contrast to the projects done by an individual.
According to the article , a work done by a team can finish more quickly due to the number of individuals which possess greater resources. This article is challenged by the lecturer who gives an example of a company that decided to allocate one of its projects to a team. He claims that project didn't finish quickly cause it took the team members so long to reach a consensus. Additionally he points out that , when after six months members were asked about how well they were doing , their attitude was just opposite of what is mentioned in the reading.
Secondly , the author suggests that , individuals would have a better chance to get their opinions recognized as highly considerable in a team and members who are great in desicion-making will feel better about carrying out the work. The lecturer , however asserts that , again in the example of the company , while one or two individuals that were so influential dropped some ideas and the team decided to put them into practice , a highly creative member warn them but they ignored his directions. He goes on to say that , in consequence not only the project failed , but also there was blame on all member's faces.
