the reasons support a coin found in Canada is fake or not
The text discusses this possibility that the Coins found in the United states be a fake and provides three reasons of support. On the other hand, the professor refutes all stated claims and explains that there are some evidences which can prove the coin is not fake.
First, the text explains that based on the great distance between Maine where the coin discovers and the settlements of the Norse can prove why discovered coin is not original. The professor refutes this claim and states that it is proved that the native people of America used to travel in long distances and took some objects with themselves. She also states that these people could really reach long distances and brought the coin to that place.
Second, the text claims that no other coin found in Canada where the Norse inhabited there. So, the found coin is not original. The professor rejects this point and states that the Norse had no permanent settlements. She also adds that a reason which can explain why no other coin found in that place due to this point that maybe The Norse packed up all their tools but not their coins. In this way she refutes the second claim of the text.
Third, as the text coins were popular in Europe, but they had no use in North America. By mentioning this point, it explains why the coin in Canada is a fake version. The professor goes against this point and states that although the people of the North America did not used to count silver coins as money, but it was appealing for them because of its beauty. We can also hear from her that the people of the North America could use these coins as jewelry. In this way she states why she believe the third claim of the text is wrong.
