Essay topics:

Recently, there has been a historical debate about the usage of a vessel that had been discovered in Iraq,

as a batterie. A group of archeologists holds the believe that this vessel may have another usage, and the ancient Iraqi people never used it as a batterie, who represented by the author in the reading passage, while another group asserts that this vessel for sure had been used to generate electricity, and the professor support this idea in the reading passage.
First of all, the lecturer contends that the absence of wires connected to the vessel, is not an evidence of not using the vessel as a batterie, he adds, the person who discover this vessel was not a professional, he was just a local people, as long with this fact, this person might already found wires in the same place , but he did n't realize the importance of them, so may he dispose them. By this point, the professor refutes the first opinion has been made by the text.
Second, the lecture claims that the vessel might be used at the beginning to keep scrolls, then one of the ancient inventers discover that this can produce electricity if it combined with iron and liquid. So the lecture casts the doubt about the reading passage assumption of usage of this vessel just for keeping scrolls.
Finally, regarding the question that has been made by the author, why the ancient Iraqi's people need to generate the electricity?, they didn't have any device powered by it, that may be true as the professor says, but, on the other hand, the ancient people might use this electrical power to heal some pain, like the usage of mild electricity today in some medical field. As the lecture gives other use of electricity, that makes the author question no longer important.
