School Organization
The article states that the USA schools are arranged by European system and explains about this kind of education systems. How ever, the professor refutes this system and provides some reasons to hold this opinion.
The reading states that graded school can be categorized into three levels as follows: Primary grades, intermediate grades, and secondary grades. The primary education includes preparation for first grade, a teacher, a certain classroom. According to the passage, it covers grades one through five or six. The second level is intermediate grades, in this level, classes are arranged based on subject. In contrast to the first level, there are a group of teachers collaborating together. This level is grades six or seven through eight or nine. The last grade is secondary, in this level, teachers teach students some specialized subjects.
The professor presents a different point of view. He asserts that it is not good that divide grades based on students' age. He also believes that we have to know how long it will take to teach them and it is different person by person. He explains that a person who is a smart one and learn faster rather than other students, has to wait for others to get new concepts. These differences include physically, mentally and socially. In addition, repeating this course each year can make student bored.
