Students do not respect teachers as much as they did in the past.
Although many believe nowadays students respect their teachers as they did in the past, I, on the other hand, believe students do not respect teacher as much as they did in the past. I will address the most discernible reasons why I feel this way in the following.
To begin with, according to new survey 90 percent of high school and about 81 percent of middle school teachers believe their pupils do not respect them as much as their previous students did before. This example illustrate that nowadays students do not respect their teachers as much as they did in the past.
Moreover, in these modern days both parents tend to work, because they want to provide good lifestyle for their children and their family. Thus, they do not have enough time to learn their children to be polite in both social and school. In the past in few families both parents worked, there for parents spent more time with their children and tried to learn their children to be polite and respect others specially their teacher. But now almost in all families both parents have been working. My own experience is a compelling example of this. When I was a middle school student, both of one of my friends parents worked. However, they were rich family, but I recall that he was not respect our teacher, he did not finish his assignment and he did not treat well in class. He was the only rude guy in our class. In the middle of my academic term I realized that, his was the only guy who’s parents both worked. Consequently, they were not at home to teach him to be polite in school ant respect his teacher.
Last but not the least, education system has been changed, thus, students can do whatever they like in classes and teachers do not have the right to punish them. For instance, in the past teachers could punish rude students, but they cannot do that. Therefore, students do not respect them, because they think their teachers do not have any power. Not only that but also, students access to many sources such as internet, and they learn many thing from these resources. Thus, the importance of teachers role reduced among students.
In conclusion, it is for all the aforementioned reasons, I firmly believe today pupils do not respect teachers as they did before. This is because parents do not spend much time with their children and do not have enough time to teach them to respect their teacher, and because education system has been changed and because the importance of teacher roe reduce among students.
