Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how the proposal discussed in the lecture would solve the specific challenges described in the reading passage.
From the reading, it is obvious that maintaining a permanent human presence on Venus is extremely difficult. There are problems like atmosphere pressure, no water supplies, no oxygen and extremely little sunlight. However, these problems can be solved by building a space station floating in the atmosphere, 50 feet above the surface.
By floating above the surface of Venus, the problem of air pressure is solved. As we all know, there is less atmosphere pressure in the air than on the surface. According to this, the air pressure 50 feet above the surface of Venus would be the same as the air pressure on the surface of Earth which would make spacecrafts able to resist the pressure.
Furthermore, astronauts can gain water and oxygen while staying in spacecrafts 50 feet above the surface of Venus. According to the article, the planet's atmosphere contains carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid. Using chemical reactions, water and oxygen could both be obtained.
Lastly, the spacecrafts could easily gain sunlight by floating in the atmosphere of Venus. Fifty feet above the ground, there is little cloud above, out of which, humans could use solar panels to gain electricity. Additionally, the article states that clouds could reflect sunlight they receive. Spacecrafts could use the sunlight reflected from the thick clouds bellow to get electricity.
