Summarize the points made in the lecture. Being sure to explain how they cast doubt on specific points made in the reading passage

The reading and the lecturer are both about the cause of Little Ice Age. While the author believes that several reasons are responsible to cause Little Ice Age, the lecturer believes that the reasons which are elaborated in the reading are out of date and he casts doubt on the claims made in the article.

Firstly, the author states that disrupt the Gulf Stream is one of the reasons that caused the Little Ice Age. On the other hand, the lecturer mentions that the arrival of a large amount of cold freshwater into the Gulf Stream affects the climate of the European countries and North America not all the parts of the Earth's climate.

Secondly, the author claims that another reason that has caused Little Ice Age is volcanic eruption. Again this claim is rebutted by the lecturer. He states that it is conspicuous that the volcanic eruptions put enough dust into the atmosphere but the volcanic eruptions that took place during that moment were not strong enough to cool the weather because if they were strong enough they may also cause colorful sunset but this phenomenon was not reported in that time.

Finally, the author mentions that the decline of human populations has decreased the temperature of weather. This idea is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that there was not a sufficient time for trees to grow and absorb a large amount of carbon dioxide to make earth cooler. Moreover, he states that the decreased population of human was not a long-term and the human population was increased and started to cut down trees like past moments; Thus, it is not an acceptable reason to cause Little Ice Age.
