The article states that dinosaurs are endotherm and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that many scientists have problems with the arguments and they don't agree to the claim dinosaurs are endotherm.
First, the reading states that dinosaur fossils have been discovered in polar regions. The professor refutes this point by stating that fossils that are discovered in polar regions are warmers than today. He explains that if dinosaurs are endotherm they could have migrated are hibernate to a warmer place that commonly does by modern reptiles. The professor states that this proves that dinosaurs are not endotherm.
Second, the article mentioned that there is a connection between endothermy and the position of the legs. However, the professor contends that the position of the legs doesn't have any connection with the endotherm. He also explains that dinosaurs are not high energy built endotherm for running instead of that the position of the legs in dinosaurs has another purpose of serving they support more weight and dinosaurs grow to large size. The professor says that being large as built its own advantage.
Third, the reading claims that there is a connection between endothermy and bone structure. The lecture opposes this point by adding growth rings. He elaborates on this by mentioning that dinosaurs do have Haversian canals and growth rings. Growth rings indicate thickening of the bone, presence of growth rings implies that the growth remains. The professor states that living animals that are not endotherm have a periodic growth they show cycles of rapid growth followed by slow/no growth then rapid growth, on the other hand, endotherm growth is rapid in cooler environments.
