The article state that professors are and can be found in the school environmen, in libraries, lectur rooms or in their offices. The passage also point out that professor also apear on televison as guest on a program providing academic or expact view on specific event. The passage explains that this is a good thing for the professor as it allow the professor to present his ideas to a wider audience. However, the professor explains that appearing on televison does not benefit the professor, rather it put the professor at a disadvantage. The professor is considered a celebrity professor and his fellow professor might not consider him as a serious academic personnel. He might not get invited to important confrences and might loss the opportunity of getting funds for his research.
second, the passage point out that the professor appearing on television will be a good thing for the university as it provides publicity for the university, the publicity means more respect for the univerity and this will inturn encurage more students to apply to the university. However, the professor refutes this point by stating that the professor apearing on televison will take away valuable time from the professor. The time the professor is meant to speand preparing for lectures and other accademic activites like research work, will be spent traviling and trying to look good for the camera.
Lastly, the reading point out that the public will benefit from the appearance of the professor on television. By getting an expact opinon on event happing around them.
